Handcrafted truly unique sculpture. Crafted from burr Elm wood. As the name suggests this piece was created to convey the love between a parent and child. The smaller heart is crafted from the same piece of Elm as the larger one - to convey while unique each has a similar DNA. I’ve used colouring’s sparingly to allow the natural grain colours and patterns to sing for themselves. I have used chameleon powder on the face of the small heart in order to help define it’s shape and the colour changes from pink to blue (depending on how the light hits the surface). The piece has a little gold gilding to enhance the overall appearance. I’ve finished this piece with a durable lacquer. This very unique piece of timber sat in the workshop for months while I considered how best to use it - I hope you agree it was worth the wait. The piece stands 400mm (15 3/4 inches) high x 250mm (10 inches) wide x 300mm (12 inches) deep. The hearts are mounted on a stained and laquered hardwood base via brass rods.
